The Carbonarium in Jastrzebie-Zdroj is a modern exhibition located in the revitalized Institute for Heritage and Dialogue – Moszczenica Baths. The four-level space shows the evolution of coal – from a cosmic element to an industrial raw material. The exhibition also tells the history of the mining industry and the traditions of using coal as an energy resource.
The central element of Carbonarium is a “levitating” lump of coal - a symbol of mining heritage and an architectural highlight of the facility.
